Nicole Benson is the founder of Esperanza Education– a company started in Vancouver, Canada and dedicated to the promotion of intercultural understanding and collaboration. She is the facilitator of the Spanish for Social Justice Teacher Network, a Board member of CoDevelopment Canada, and a member of CIPO-Van. She works as an Education Research Consultant, and has completed a project on Intercultural Bilingual Education for indigenous youth with UNICEF-Peru, and a project on teaching practices and gender dynamics in maths education in Paraguay with Innovations for Poverty Action. She’s fluent in Spanish and has lived and travelled extensively in both Spain and Latin America.
